Welcome to the Pakistan Human Development Fund UK ("PHDF UK") website!

PHDF UK is an independent UK registered charity committed to the eradication of

poverty and the improvement of health and education in Pakistan. In pursuit of this goal,

PHDF UK works not only closely with its partners in Pakistan, but also supports NGOs

in the UK in connection with this joint enterprise and also with the United Nations

Development Programme ("UNDP").

The Millenium Goals laid down by the UNDP at the international summit in 2000 have

been our guide from the start. It was in pursuit of those goals that the Government of

Pakistan created the National Commission for Human Development ("NCHD") and

commissioned it to identify and set out a road map to achieving these objectives.

Based upon those fundamental principles, the Pakistan Human Development Fund

(the "Fund") was established in Pakistan in 2002 as a tripartite partnership between the

civil society, the Government of Pakistan and the UNDP to raise and administer the

much needed funds.

The Fund has a unique constitution providing unprecedented levels of transparency

and integrity in terms of how charitable donations are collected and thereafter applied.

A carefully selected board presides over the fund with representatives from both the

private and government sector vetting financial management at a granular level. An

independent firm of chartered accountants then audits the financial activities of the Fund

and their reports are then posted to the NCHD website.

Please take the time to browse this website and that of NCHD (by clicking the link) for

more information on PHDF and the Fund. I am confident you will find what has been

achieved both inspiring and educational.
